    A new study shows that the single picker model in warehouse picking is 44% more productive than the picker-helper model, as it eliminates idle time and fully utilizes the workforce. By reducing non-value-adding tasks, such as excessive walking, significant labor cost savings have been achieved.
  3. Eitan Hefetz, Arvist AI, Israel
    The company provides specialized computer vision AI solutions for logistics and warehouse operations that improve safety, quality and inventory accuracy. By integrating with existing infrastructure, the company optimizes yard and dock operations and provides real-time alerts to increase operational efficiency.

    The expansion of a logistics site during ongoing operations requires the involvement of all relevant stakeholders and precise planning in order to secure future growth and respond flexibly to market requirements. A successful expansion takes into account capacity forecasting and the use of flexible warehouse technology, whereby the balancing act between automation and manual flexibility is particularly challenging.

    The company opted for the location at Leipzig/Halle Airport due to the excellent transport connections, which enable fast deliveries, as well as other factors such as the high quality of life and availability of labor. Thanks to the existing industry network and the support of Netzwerk Logistik Mitteldeutschland e.V., the relocation went smoothly, enabling successful integration into the region.

    The company is revolutionising returnable packaging management by automating pallet exchange and pallet account reconciliation using AI technology, which significantly reduces personnel costs and processing times. By integrating existing systems such as WMS and ERP, bookings and account reconciliations are processed automatically, allowing companies to benefit both economically and ecologically.
  7. Robert Verhoeven, DistriSort Projects BV DistriSort Projects BV
    The current project shows how over 30,000 items of clothing can be picked in 5 hours with minimal technical complexity and just 4 employees. By using a standard fashion and article sorter, the solution was implemented in just 6 months and offers efficient optimisation for medium-sized to large companies.

    The presentation ‘Lorry load compartment cleaning’ deals with the simple and efficient cleaning of lorry load compartments, an often overlooked but important topic in logistics. An easy-to-understand solution is presented that solves the problem quickly and effectively.
  9. Robin Schmidt, auto.mates solutions GmbH IT, Automation solutions
    The company wants to share its knowledge and experience to show how software robots can help increase efficiency, reduce errors and cut costs in the logistics industry and other sectors. In our presentation, we will present concrete case studies that illustrate the benefits of automation in practice.

    The company has developed AI-based software for the precise measurement of complex freight in logistics. By working closely with leading logistics companies, we have gained valuable insights into the industry and would like to share our experience of digital transformation in logistics.

    As a logistics unit in the chemical industry, the company has been promoting ergonomics since 2017 through the use of exoskeletons and ComputerMyoGraphy to facilitate manual work and visualise muscle strain. Our initiatives aim to create healthier workplaces and improve the work-life balance of our employees in the long term.
